HOW WE BEGAN

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Yvette Salinas the founder of Juicy Fruits Ministry. Ten years ago I was diagnosed with Lupus SLE and I am also a Thyroid Cancer Survivor, one who has experienced personal, emotional, and physical losses in life. I know what it is to feel alone even when your not.

Since I was a child, I have always had a dream of helping people. This dream came true at the age of thirteen. My aunt and her family were in need of assistance.
She was a Lupus patient and I found great pleasure in helping her. As a child I didnt really understand the significance of this birthing period of my life.

Shortly after my aunt died and I was left with beautiful memories. I will never forget her words to me, Yvette, if you ever get sick like me, do not ever give up on yourself and most of all on God. Fifteen years later I was diagnosed with Lupus SLE. This progressed slowing for a time, and then took a turn for the worse. My husband and I know what it is to feel totally hopeless and afraid.

We began to reach out for help and found ourselves in need of encouragement. By gathering together with friends who were experiencing their own hardships, allowed us to give the love and support we were looking for.

Our joy was being regained and with it emotional strength.

"A Cheerful Heart Is Good Medicine." (Proverbs 17:22)

We need to choose to be happy during our hardest times.

The greatest gift in life is the gift of experience; it is how you choose to deal with an obstacle that counts. We chose to be used by God and share our love and joy with others.

Support should empower you to push forward in life.

When our doctor told us to hold on to our faith and not to lose hope. The princibles and promises from the bible kept our family motivated and encouraged.

"I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me."

Philippians 4:13

Emotional strain can cause families to mistreat one another.

As a community we need to love and support each other;

children need guidance in knowing they have a role

in the healing process for their families.

Juicy Fruits Ministry is endeavoring to help support famiies through prayer, fellowship and performing arts.

"Sharing the juice of life through the Love of Jesus Christ."
